THE WHEATIES OF THE MIND.
I have always loved cereal, in fact, probably too much. The only fights I ever had with my brother Nick during our childhood were over who finished the last bit of a cereal box or who poured themselves a bigger bowl. We especially loved laying personal claim to Wheaties, the cereal of champions, with the aspiration that one day we too would end up on the cover of the box in the grocery store and in millions of kitchens across the world.
The real breakfast of champions is ATTITUDE. Every great leader, athlete, and community changer has mastered this understanding that attitude IS everything. Your attitude determines your altitude, and if you want your life and your legacy to fly high, then it’s time for you to take ownership of your attitude.
I have been eating my breakfast of champions like a world class champ the past four days that I have spent in mentorship with Todd Durkin at Fitness Quest 10 in San Diego. We are the only ones who have control over our attitude. Our poor and mediocre attitudes are simply byproducts of our own choices, and are inexcusable if we ever want to leave an impact on anyone. Attitude is more than a mental habit, it is a skill set developed by discipline, effort, concerted focus and hourly practice.
Change the altitude with which you think you are capable of achieving and start eating your breakfast every morning, every hour, and every moment you have. It’s never too late to change the way you think.
Attitudes are nothing more than habits of thoughts, and habits can be acquired. An action repeated becomes an attitude realized. -Paul Myer
