Episode 7: The Keys to Failure: Pleasing Others

“I can’t tell you the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.” –Ed Sheeran

Do not let the darkness of others’ unhappiness shadow your sunlight and joy. Some people just choose to be unhappy and try to bring you down with them.

Fitness:

The people who succeed with their fitness goals are those who do it for themselves.  You have to want to change for you, not for anyone else.

Focus instead of the goal of feeling good for your own sake.

Nutrition:

Your nutrition is significantly influenced by those you eat around; how are you allowing others to either positively or negatively impact you?

The only people you should be pleasing in establishing a healthy relationship with food is YOU.  Eat well for YOUR body, not because others are telling you to do so.

You:

You will never be able to get everyone to like you.  Don’t be surprised when someone doesn’t like you or seemingly goes out of their way to be rude to you.  It is not your problem, it’s theirs; wasting time trying to win over people who are unwinnable in life is a waste of your own life.

If you never want to be criticized, then never do anything.

  • Be bold.
  • Take risks.
  • Over-deliver the Golden Rule
  • Complete the task / Never give up.

Question of the Episode:

There are toxic, unhappy people everywhere in the world.  How can you minimize the influence of your toxic influencers in your life so that you can focus on maximizing life instead of futilely wasting it trying to win over unhappy people?

How can you consistently OVER-DELIVER the Golden Rule in your life?
