WORKPLACE MOVEMENT CHALLENGE

WELCOME TO THE WORKPLACE MOVEMENT CHALLENGE!

What is it?   The Workplace Movement Challenge, a movement of movement, is designed to encourage you to team up with your co-workers and be active together through the day! Getting healthy as a community starts with small steps and it starts in the office.  Fitness can be fun, and the best fitness results are achieved by working smarter, not harder, so work smart with your co-workers and be a fitness leader by example.

How does it work?  It's easy! Just team up with your workmates and pick to commit to doing a daily challenge as a team at least 3x per week.  Each day you will pick one of the listed exercises and do them throughout the day.  For example, if you choose to do a push up challenge, then your goal is to do 5-10x push ups (of any variety or modification -- and there are modifications...this program is for everyone!) every hour on the hour.  If you work in a doctor's office or with patients, then your goal could be to do 10x push ups between every patient.   Work together and track your results!  Use this website and the videos on it to learn about exercises and to choose what your challenge exercises each week will be.  New videos and exercises will be posted to the site on a weekly basis, so you should never run out of great ideas and inspiration!

Why participate?  Participating in The Workplace Movement Challenge is an easy and more importantly, fun way to get 10-15 minutes of strength training exercise in your day without hitting up the gym.   Moreover, strength and resistance training promotes lean muscle mass, which in turn increases your metabolic rate; the higher your metabolism, the more calories you will burn naturally and the more energetic you will feel! This challenge will help you finish your work day feeling fitter, leaner, and more naturally energized than when you started! Moreover, when we feel good physically, we are more productive and effective in our daily tasks.

How to get involved?  This is a grassroots movement --- so get involved right away and start up a Workplace Movement Challenge in your own office today!  Invite at least five friends and co-workers to participate, and encourage each of those partipants to invite five others.  Together, we can inspire a true movement of movement and health.
